I AS ON ME DE A is a theatre research of borderlines between myth and matter. A research, on the grounds of which borders between various components and genres vanish, and new areas come into existence. Petra Tejnorová and her Company are trying to find rules, up to now inexistent, for these areas.

Even though the matter which we take for our inspiration is old and time tested and deserves to be called literally “the eternal theme, the theme of love”, we consider it to be a very fresh matter, fit for reflecting the contemporary issues of civil society and even as the best opportunity to manifest the principles of what is called the “new theatre”. With love and humbleness we go back to the genre of tragedy and the principles of catharsis without trying to realize these notions according to – apparently proved – tried and tested procedures. We find inspiration in texts of, for instance, L. A. Seneca, Euripides, Thomas Dreyer, Fritz Kater, Heiner Müller and others.
