The Sufferings of Prince Sternenhoch
The story of one of German Empire’s prominent aristocrats is being depicted with grotesque hyperbole in several scenes from the life of Prince Sternenhoch. He could have become Bismarck’s successor, had he not met Helga… This extract from the mysticism of Ladislav Klíma, who is an extravagant philosopher and writer, becomes a psychedelic ride with an abundance of symbols and metaphors. The combination of time lines, balancing between life and death, dreams and reality, merges into a bizarre plot created on the borderline between “this” world and the “other” one. Passion can deprive a man of all his self-control.
An orgiastic dance of intertwining human limbs, acrobatic elements, movements repeated in chorus, a physical, expressive theatre. All the ingredients were combined harmoniously to create a performance to honour madness. ( Markéta Faustová, SPECTACULO INTERESSE Ostrava 2005 )
